The first time, one of the other agents was arguing with a former customer about extra charges due to smoking. After hanging up, he said something like "Who does he think he is kidding, he reaked of cigarettes." As another customer, that is none of my concern.
Thankfully, they are the loaner rental facility for Fred Beans. I cannot see how their customer service would allow them to stay in business otherwise.
I had the misfortune to be stuck with their "service" three times.

We used to alternate between Beans' AutoRent and Enterprise, but AutoRent earned our business, hand's down. Between long trips when we needed a bigger vehicle than our own, or coverage when cars were in for repair, AutoRent makes it easy. Small crossovers/SUVs are classified as full sized cars, making the daily rate reasonable. The cars are always clean, and the rentals fair and honest. On one occasion the rental agent saw a scuff I didn't notice, drew it to my attention and adjusted the paperwork. Another time I forgot to fill the tank, realizing it only as I was standing at the counter - they let me take the car and gas it up, rather than charging me the fueling fee. Matt is my fav rental agent, meticulous, funny, fair and accommodating. He's a big part of AutoRent being our go-to car rental service!
The second, they were complaining out loud to each other about a woman who was upset that she could not get a loaner after leaving her car for service because her license was in the other purse. "Who is she kidding? If she can't drive without her license, how are we supposed to give her a $50000 car?" Boy, those are some expensive Rogues and Altimas. Maybe it's the Yaris that cost $50k.
I wonder if Fred knows how poorly they speak about their customers?
