At least by this point Mary sounded a bit more personable and concerned that the front desk should not be addressing patients from across the room and should be handing back insurance cards so that they are not left on a counter for other people to see.
I then expressed my concern about the girl at the front desk although she was very nice I told her before I even got up to the desk she told me what the co-pay was and plunked my card down on the counter before I was at the counter, leaving it out in the open for the patient standing next to the counter to see it.
Arrival time to being seen to leaving was about 45 minutes total.
Front desk staff pleasant and friendly.
I called the next day to speak to an office manager. When she first got on the phone, it sounded like she was eating and just said "can I help you?", never identifying that she was a manager or even introducing herself by name. I had to ask who I was speaking to. She identified herself as "Mary". The beginning of the conversation was abrupt, she sounded uninterested and unprofessional.
Physician was pleasant, well spoken, knowledgeable, sincere and compassionate. Although it was not a long visit, we did not feel rushed, he still addressed all questions and was very specific with his answers. If the review was only for the physician it would be a glowing, perfect review. He was wonderful.
CONS:
Only one doctor there. Was told that the doctor that is there normally doesn’t work there so they are very behind. Very clean and girls at front desk super nice but should not be open til they are properly staffed.
Overall the good care received by the physician was the main reason for going to this facility, it's close to home, clean, and the length of the visit could not be beat. Physician is worth more than 5 stars, I gave it a 3 due to the lack of concern for privacy with my insurance card and the initial interaction via phone with Mary the office manager at the beginning of our phone conversation.
Sign in sheet visible to everyone, anyone coming in could see who was there
I was treated very quickly, with courtesy and respect. The staff was very friendly. Dr.Talenti was great - he's double board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics, and has over 22 years experience as an ER doc. The place is sparkling clean (it opened one day prior).
I even asked if I was interrupting her lunch because she still sounded like she was chewing food while talking to me. I expressed my concerns about the front desk sign in sheet, she was quick to give the usual it's not a HIPPA rule, but that she could understand patients being uncomfortable and she said she was looking for a way for better privacy and I suggested to her looking into privacy sign in sheets she thanked me for my suggestion and said she was going to look into that.
The girl at the front desk called us back up to desk, before we were anywhere near the desk she said what the copay was and set the insurance card on the counter while there was another patient standing there. So on top of being extremely impersonal, the other person standing there could easily see our insurance card with name and ID number.
Pros:
First, this facility is modern, waiting area nicely decorated, comfortable with bottled water and snacks.
